Mannar in Sinhala known as “Mannarama” it is the 25th district in Sri Lanka, spread through area of  27.85 kilometers² the  and Mannar located near 325 kilometers distance from city of Colombo.     Weather is near to 30°C, and Humidity is around 66%. In here Mannar you can expect dry and tropical Climate most of the time through the year; to reach the Mannar you can take the direct route from Colombo Anuradhapura. In ancient Sri Lanka Mannar district was governed by Portuguese, Dutch and British. Mannar, Jaffna and Vanni this districts are consistence of Northern Province. People in Mannar was also experienced the Mannar, because of the civil war. Now Mannar is a developing town. In here you can find very exclusive plants, trees, flowers and wildlife distinct with rest of Sri Lanka, Boabab trees flourish also can see in here.

In Mannar there’s port that found in very early time, which wanted to stretch now. There are several land marks situated around Mannar city St. Mary’s Church at Madhu it’s also famous as Shrine of Our Lady of Madhu, a remarkable place to visit you can reach by taking A 378 Madhu Road to inner side of the country and with  Madawachchiya Talaimannar main road also known as A14 near to the Madhu Road joint.
